WHEN is Meor?

Depending on your background and what you're looking for in your Jewish experience at NYU, Meor offers several awesome learning opportunities:

On Wednesday Nights

Maimonidesa 10 week learning fellowship offers a unique opportunity to explore Judaism at a level of depth and sophistication commensurate with your academic skills and aspirations.  In a dynamic and open environment, students are introduced to classical Jewish philosophy, the relevance of Jewish wisdom to contemporary issues and Jewish perspectives on some of life’s most challenging questions.

The Maimonides Fellowship features:
-10 weekly class lectures by world class Rabbis and real-world executives who lead Jewish lives
-Shabbat home hospitality experiences in a neighboring Jewish community
-A learning-oriented trip to Israel (at a heavily discounted price!)
-A generous stipend upon completion
-Dinner every week!

& Legacy Café, (or Legacy, at it's called by NYU students) is a "Maimonides lite" of sorts. The weekly gathering includes inspiring lectures from world-class Rabbis, as well as peer-led discussion groups, and the opportunity for 1-on-1 learning with another Rabbi or Torah Scholar. Legacy is heavily attended by our Maimonides graduates and other campus leaders, and is open to all students. Did we mention free dinner?

On Thursday Nights:

The Vaador Spiritual Bootcamp, is a 10-week life empowerment workshop that fuses self-improvement and Jewish values. The class features weekly hour and a half long classes led by Rabbi Yehoshua Kohl, and contains real concrete examples and exercises designed around building and flexing your spiritual muscles in such areas as faith, gratitude, patience, and happiness.

& Rabbi Shmalo's Weekly Parasha Class.

On Weekends:

Shabbaton!

And, any time you need your Torah fix:

Book-a-Rabbi, which is exactly as its title states-- an opportunity to book a one-on-one learning session with campus Rabbis and Torah scholars. B.A.R is a great opportunity to ask any and all questions you've ever had about Judaism, in a private one-on-one setting. Want to learn to pray? B.A.R. Ever wondered how to make your kitchen Kosher? B.A.R. Ever wanted to know what it means to study Kabbalah? B.A.R.
